Intro
I love writing, especially creative non-fiction and feature article writing. I am currently completing a Creative & Professional Writing sub-major as part of my Creative Industries degree at Q.U.T.
I'm also a part time freelance writer, and have written several articles which have been published in a popular niche magazine.
Motivations
I began making my own hand-written books
and “magazines” when I was eight years old, selling them to kids
who lived on my street (also see Entrepreneurship).
Years later, my writing is being published on a much larger scale.
Seeing my name in print is the best feeling!
A collection of my articles, some of which formed the basis of a psychic advice column,
were recently published in my favourite magazine.
I was excited to to see my work appearing beside that of my favourite international
authors.
One of these authors, Doreen
Virtue PhD. Wrote about me in her latest book “Goddesses
& Angels” (Published by Hay
House) and invited me on stage during her recent Australian
tour. Now that I'm in a popular book, it's only a matter of time before
I write my own!
I also got a taste for what it's like to
be a famous author when I volunteered at Doreen's “Angel
Intuitive” course. While I was answering website queries,
Doreen's husband, Steven Farmer, was signing his books at the table next to mine. It
was easy to imagine that the people in my queue were there for my autograph!
I've also been interviewed by Cleo
magazine and appeared in one of their feature stories a few years ago, so I'm no stranger to
seeing my name in print.
Future Aspirations
The plan is to write lots of books and
magazine articles. I'm currently more inclined to write about interesting
non-fiction topics rather than fiction.
I'd also like to write for film
and television, and possibly video games.
Documentary filmmaking is something I'm
interested in too, since I love uncovering new, interesting information
that not many people know about, and presenting it in an entertaining
way.
